Current Responsibility: Jay is responsible for Bible translation for the deaf into sign languages for 54 countries and territories in the Americas. Projects currently underway include Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia. New projects have just begun in Argentina and Brazil, and one is about to start in Trinidad & Tobago.
In addition, Jay and Luz Mary (along with another couple) lead a house church in Bogota. Their church focuses on relationships, with Jesus and with each other. It attempts to reach some of the many people who are not interested in traditional churches: people who have never regularly attended church, people who know only the dead formalism of religion, and Christians who are burned out and no longer attend any church.
Through the Faith Ministries International Network connection, Jay and Luz Mary receive invitations to preach and teach in many countries. Jay's most recent conference was in Musoma, Tanzania in Sept. 2006.
Prayer Requests: The task of translating the Bible into all the Sign Languages needing translation is enormous. We need more workers, better technology and supernatural help from the Holy Spirit.
